I’m beginning to get the hang of crayon drawing. We use block crayons and tend to limit ourselves to 6 colours, 2 yellows, 2 blues and 2 reds.
Here I started with a lemon yellow background for the sky, then built up the dark silhouette by layering the reds and blues.
I then built up the boldness on the yellow whilst bringing down and layering the reds and then the blues to give the effect of the night drawing in.
The straight lines leading up to the horizon were originally going to be a road but getting the detail was hard so I left it a bit more ambiguous.
